WYOMING--Funeral service for John Womachka, 77, who died Sunday morning after a few weeks' illness, was held from the family home in Wyoming at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. R. C. Scott, pastor of the Methodist church, was in charge of the services. Deceased was born in Bohemia June 17, 1864, and when a small boy came to America with his parents who located first in Maquoketa, then in Chicago and in Bradford, Ind., near the Kentucky border. Later the family moved to the Oxford Junction community.

After his marriage to Rose Kouba, Hale, on Feb. 16, 1887, the couple located on a farm in this vicinity. In 1899 they moved to Wyoming where he served as sexton of the Wyoming cemetery for 35 years. He retired only a year ago.

He is survived by his widow and six living children: Mrs. Mayme Behnke, Delhi; Louis Womachka, deputy warden of the Iowa State reformatory, Anamosa; Mrs. Pauline Waggy, Wyoming; Mrs. Helen Hucker, Marion; Edmund Womachka, Maquoketa, and Joseph Womachka, Cedar Rapids, and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A daughter, Mrs. Maggie Bramer, died in 1933 and another daughter in infancy. A granddaughter, Bernice Behnke Reinhart, died in 1935.
