Funeral service for Frank Hovey, 72, who died Tuesday evening at the Jones county home following a long illness, was held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Smykil's Funeral home.

Rev. J. K. Delahooke, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiated and burial was at Monmouth cemetery.

Mr. Hovey was born Jan. 24, 1869, near Canton and lived his entire life in Jones county. His wife preceded him in death 10 or 12 years ago and the couple had no children.

He is survived by one brother, Elmer Hovey, Clay Mills, and several nieces and nephews.
