Mrs. Arthur (Retta) Yeisley, fifth grade teacher in the Olin school, died at Mercy hospital, Cedar Rapids, Monday following a brief illness.

Funeral services for Mrs. Yeisley were held at the First Baptist church in Marion Thursday, Jan. 10. School was dismissed at noon on Thursday to allow students and staff to attend the service.

A memorial service was held at St. John Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon with students, staff and others from the community in attendance. Rev. Frank Philipp, pastor of St. John, led in prayer.

Tributes were given by Supt. LeRoy Kester, teacher Roger Kistler, and former Olin teacher, Patricia Shaw. High school chorus, directed by Barbara Meier sang.

Mrs. Yeisley taught in the elementary department of the Olin school for ten years. A memorial fund in her honor has been established and will be administered by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Glenn, Mr. and Mrs. Greg VonBehren and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ahrendsen. At her request, it is hoped that special playground equipment can be purchased for the Olin school grounds. Persons wishing to contribute may leave their gifts at the Union Trust and Savings Bank, Olin; with a number of the administrative committee, or at the schoolhouse.
