Esther A. Cousins, 76, died at Olin on Dec. 19, 1979.

She was born near Olin Nov. 11, 1903, the daughter of Arthur and Nettie McCrea Miller. She graduated from Olin High school and attended Cedar Rapids Business College and Coe College.

Esther and James Cousins were married March 8, 1928 at Mt. Vernon, Ia. The couple farmed south of Stanwood for four years, then moved to their present farm home near Olin.

She was a member of St. Paul's Methodist Church; a Past Matron and 40 year member of Hiawatha Chapter, O.E.S., Olin; and several other local clubs.

She is survived by her husband, James; a daughter, Mrs. Willis (Carolyn) Glenn; a son Robert Cousins, Olin; one sister, Mrs. Eileen Crowder, Olin; one grandson and three granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Services were held Saturday, Dec. 22, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Fred Richardson, and Rev. M. Lloyd Dutro. Organist was Miss Lori Mapel.

Casketbearers were Floyd Guhl, Jack Jones, Glenn Brown, Robert Davis, Leo Levsen and Harlen Voelker. Burial was in Olin Cemetery.
