Lester Clayton Wood, 78, died November 11, 1979 at Seminole, Florida.

Services were held Wednesday, November 14, at Hayden Funeral Home in Olin, Iowa, with burial in Olin Cemetery. Rev. Fred Richardson officiating. Mr. James Iron was Organist. Pallbearers were Kevin Jeffery, Bruce Jeffery, Art Brown, Harold Dewell, Merle Ballou and Theodore Clothier.

He was born near Hale, Iowa on April 26, 1901, the son of C.C. and Lou Baker Wood. His education was received in the Olin Public Schools.

He left Olin as a young man and went to Chicago where he married Velma Allen in 1930 at Chicago. For many years he worked as a mechanic, and his last years before retirement he was a road equipment supervisor for the state of Illinois. Velma died in 1967.

Eleven years ago he moved to Florida. In 1968 he married Mary Beanhossler in Georgia. She died in 1974.

Mr. Woods was a member of the Rivera Methodist Church in Seminole, and was a very active Mason and Shriner. He also belonged to the Order of Eastern Star and various archery clubs in Chicago and Florida.

Surviving him are three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Von Sprecken, Oakland, Ca: Mrs. Edna Freeman, Clarence, IA; and Mrs. Luverna Robinson, Davenport, IA.

Preceding him in death were his parents, both wives and two sisters.
