Funeral services were held for John J. Zamastil, 62, of Oxford Junction at 1:30 on Wednesday, October 31, at Hayden's Funeral Home. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery where military services were conducted by the American Legion.

Officiating clergyman was the Rev. Ramon Booth of Cedar Rapids.

Pallbearers were Donald Slouha, Robert Nowachek, Walter Sterk, Dennis Coon, James Clapp and Tom Shannon.

Mr. Zamastil died Sunday, October 28, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness.

He was born near Oxford Junction on November 9, 1916, the son of Frank and Katherine Hurita Zamastil.

He attended rural school and graduated from Oxford Junction High School. He farmed with his parents until he entered the military service in 1942. He was discharged in 1945. He farmed north of Oxford Junction until his death.

He was a member of the ZCBJ Lodge and American Legion, Wapsi Post, No. 473.

Survivors are one brother, Frank of Wyoming; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Ann) Koranda of Oxford Junction and four nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents.
