Wyoming, Ia., May 13--Mr. Alonzo Blakely died very suddenly at his home on East Main street Sunday night. Mr. Blakely was down town apparently in his usual health last Friday. He was an aged man, being past eighty, and one of the pioneers of this section of Jones county. Mr. Blakely testified to his faith in the Saviour one year ago last month during the revival meetings held in the Methodist church, he said he had been a Christian fifty years. Mr. Blakely's wife preceded him in death several years ago. He has two children, a son and daughter. His daughter and family lived with him. His son Ward Blakely and family of Norway, Ia., are here. The funeral was held in the Methodist church, Rev. L. L. Lockard, of Miles, officiating.
