VIOLA--Frank E. Denton, 75, died Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at his home after a long illness. Funeral service is in charge of Smykil funeral home, Anamosa, and arrangements have not been completed.

Mr. Denton was born May 26, 1866, at Linn Grove. He married Rachel Staley at Anamosa May 10, 1895. Following the marriage, the couple farmed near Viola until 1918 when they moved into town. There they operated a general store until 1931.

Surviving are the widow; one son, Harry Denton, Prairieburg; four daughters, Mrs. Martha Merritt and Mrs. Frances Locke, Marion, Mrs. Lela Moore, Waterloo, Mrs. Clifford Kendall, Anamosa.
