Emma Otten, 85 passed away on Saturday, October 13, at the Anamosa Community Hospital.

Emma was born on September 1, 1894, in Cedar County, Iowa, the daughter of Hans and Anna Reimers Thordsen. In 1915, Emma was married to Sam Miller and to this union two sons were born. Mr. Miller died in 1918. On August 5, 1931, at Rock Island, Ill., Emma married Henry Otten. The couple farmed in Cedar, Linn and Jones County before retiring to Wyoming in 1972.

Emma was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the ALCW. She is survived by her husband, Henry, of Wyoming; two sons, Glenn Miller of Greeley, Colo., and Clell "Vic" Miller of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two brothers, Louis Thordsen and William Thordsen of Tipton, one sister, Mrs. Johanna Boyer of Glenwood, Iowa, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her former husband, one grandson, two brothers and two sisters.

Services were held on Tuesday, October 16, at 1:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Wyoming. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery. Pastor James A. Mattson officiated. The pallbearers were, Gerold Miller, Donald Miller, Edward Striegel, James Sawicki, Dean Miller and Scott Striegel.
