Funeral services were held for Fred Pegorick, 83, rural Oxford Junction, at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, at Hayden's Funeral Home. Burial was at the Mayflower Cemetery.

Rev. Kenneth Hamann officiated the ceremony. Pallbearers were: Gary Willimack, Gale Willimack, Randy Pegorick, Glen Knepper, Brad Willey, and Danny Jirsa.

Mr. Pegorick died Monday at the Anamosa Community Hospital. He was born near Oxford Junction on August 12, 1896 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Mary (Kalouse) Pegorick.

At the age of 6 months his family moved to a farm southwest of Oxford Junction and that is where he spent the remainder of his life. He attended a rural school located on the family farm. In Feb. of 1920 he married Augusta Carstensen in Anamosa, she died in 1973.

During the past three winters Mr. Pegorick has lived at the Anamosa Care Center and moved home for the remainder of the year.

He is survived by three sons, Harry, Oxford Junction; Johnnie, Monticello; and Freddie, Wyoming; two daughters, Mrs. Edwin (Betty) Willimack, Oxford Junction; Mrs. Marlyn (Dorothy) Willey of Spragville; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death besides his wife are, his parents, three brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.
