22 May 1941 - The Anamosa Journal

James Quigley died last Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Jones County home near Scotch Grove at the age of 86 years. Funeral service was held Saturday morning at Anamosa with Rev. P. J. Behan in charge. Burial was made in Holy Cross cemetery at Anamosa. McNamara Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Quigley was born Jan. 4, 1855, at Dubuque the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Quigley. Mr. Quigley farmed between Anamosa and Amber until his wife died about 1920. He then moved to Anamosa where he lived until going to the county home about three years ago.

Relatives who survive include: one sister, Mrs. Mary McNally, Cascade; three nephews, Albert and Leslie Doyle, Anamosa; Dave Doyle, Marion; Will Doyle, Cedar Rapids; Sister Mary David, Elma; Mrs. Ray Lane and Mrs. Frank Boyle, Cascade.
