Last rites for Mrs. J. S. Taylor, 70, former Anamosan, were held Sunday, April 19, at Nieters chapel in Fort Madison.

Rev. Robert W. Swick, pastor of the First Methodist church in Fort Madison, conducted the service and burial was in Hillcrest Memorial park.

Mrs. Taylor, who died April 17 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Carl Rudd in Fort Madison, had been in ill health for some time but became seriously ill only four weeks before her death.

Born Aug. 10, 1870, she was united in marriage Nov. 7, 1888, to J. S. Taylor at Morning Sun. They moved from Fort Madison to Anamosa, living here for more than 30 years while Mr. Taylor served as guard at the Men's State reformatory.

Mr. and Mrs. Taylor returned to Fort Madison to make their home about a year ago.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her husband; three sons, Thompson, Anamosa, Merle, Cedar Rapids, and Dallas, Fort Madison; six daughters, Bess Taylor, Anamosa, Mrs. A. J. Wautznauer, Mrs. Carl Rudd and Mrs. Ralph Shoop, Fort Madison, Latha and Catherine Taylor, Chicago; three grandsons, six granddaughters and a sister, Mrs. N. J. Benson, Dysart. Two sons and a daughter preceded her in death.
