CASCADE--Funeral rites for Mrs. Thomas Moran, 71, who died Saturday, May 10, at her home here after a long illness, were held Monday, May 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Martin's church with Rev. M. J. Farrelly, pastor, reading the mass of requiem.

Burial was in the Cascade Catholic cemetery. Rev. Farrelly said the prayers at the grave, assisted by Rev. James Delay, Vinton.

Pallbearers were: Active, William Tallman, Edward Kurt, Leo Skahill, James Dunn, Steve Green, jr., and Austin Alexander; honorary, Thomas English, Thomas Lowham, George Dolphin, Walter Grogan, Fred Lehner and John Kedley.

Mrs. Moran was born March 17, 1870, as Catherine Mulvihill, daughter of Patrick and Ann Mulvihill, pioneer resident of the vicinity. She was married Jan. 14, 1889, to Thomas Moran, in St. Peter's church at Temple Hill. Following her marriage she lived on a farm with her husband until their retirement to Cascade 20 years ago. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary two years ago. She was a member of St. Martin's church and was an active member of the Rosary society.

She is survived by her husband, three sons, Louis, Cascade, James, Onslow and Joseph, Iowa City; five daughters, Mrs. Joseph Kenneally, Mrs. Gerald Dunne, both of Cascade; Mrs. Joseph Delay, Monticello, Mrs. Agnes Crowley, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Tim Ralston, Baldwin; 17 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Bernard, Temple Hill; three sisters, Mrs. John Foulkes, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Jane Duffy and Mrs. William Duffy, both Temple Hill. A son, John, preceded her in death.
