May 15, 1941 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service for Mrs. Eva Hall Lockard, 80, former Anamosan who died at her home in St. Cloud, Fla., Wednesday, May 7, will be held in the First Methodist church in Anamosa Friday, May 23, at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.

Body will arrive May 21 and friends may call at the Loder Funeral home.

Mrs. Lockard, wife of the late Rev. L. L. Lockard who was pastor of the Methodist church here and in Wyoming, made her home in Anamosa for many years.

Miss Nellie Wolford, who lived with Mrs. Lockard, will come to Anamosa by car.

May 22, 1941 - The Anamosa Journal

Funeral service for Mrs. Evelyn Hall Lockard, 80, former Anamosan who died May 7 at her home in St. Cloud, Fla., will be held Friday, May 23, at 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church.

Rev. J. K. Delahooke, pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will be in Riverside cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Loder Funeral home.

Born July 24, 1860 at Miles, Jackson county, Iowa, Mrs. Lockard was the only daughter of Hiram and Mary Hall. She was married at Clarence in 1878 to Luther L. Lockard, for 40 years a Methodist minister in the Upper Iowa conference. He served in the pastorate at Anamosa for four years before his retirement in 1920. From here Mr. and Mrs. Lockard moved to St. Cloud, Fla.

Rev. Lockard preceded her in death April 2, 1929, and no children survive.

A short service was held in St. Cloud before the body was sent to Anamosa.
