Funeral service for William G. Ristine, 73, retired farmer who died Monday at his home after a long illness, was held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist church with Rev. J. K. Delahooke in charge. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.

Miss Marjorie Monroe and Max Monroe furnished music for the service. Casket bearers were John Bodenhofer, Arthur Meeks, Arthur White, Tom Hanlon, Loyal Byerly and Ed Ruhl.

Mr. Ristine, son of J. G. and Frances Ristine, was born June 7, 1867, in Crawfordsville, Ind., and first came to Iowa with his parents when he was seven. He did not come here to make his home permanently until he was 18 years old.

He was married Dec. 24, 1890, to Della V. Beam. Mr. Ristine was employed for several years as telegraph operator but after his marriage engaged in farming near Anamosa for 23 years. The family then moved to Anamosa for 20 years and returned to farming in 1933. They moved back to Anamosa in February.

Mr. Ristine was one of the early automobile dealers in this vicinity and at one time had both Ford and Chevrolet franchises.

He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Grace Smith and Mrs. Vern Carrington, Anamosa, and Mrs. Elda Pelton, Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Ed, John and Clate, Buchanan, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Freeburn, Sioux City and Mrs. Frances Goodrich, Waterloo.
