Elsie D. Holst, 69, died August 9, 1979, at Chicago. She was born in Scotch Grove township, Jones County, Iowa, on October 24, 1909, the daughter of Nicholas and Toni Rohwedder Holst.

Services were held Monday, August 3, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian church at Onslow with burial in Wyoming cemetery. Pastor Don Johnson officiated. Mrs. Ronald Paulsen was organist and pallbearers were John Holst, Richard Rohwedder, Paul Rohwedder, Robert Rohwedder, Herbert Levsen, and Ronald Paulsen

Elsie graduated from Onslow high school and Iowa State University and in 1933 she began work in Chicago. She was a home economist for Commonwealth Edison for many years and later for Dow Chemical. She then worked at a home economics placement service. The last several years she has worked as a food photographer.

She was active in numerous professional home economics organizations in Chicago and belonged to the Order of Eastern Stars.

Surviving her are one sister, Laura, Mrs. Calvin Reiss of Onslow, and one niece.

Preceding her in death were her parents.
