Funeral services were held for Walter H. Thomsen, 20, of Oxford Junction at 10:30 on Tuesday, July 17, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery. Scripture service was Monday evening at Hayden's Funeral Home, Oxford Junction. The Rev. R. J. Sigwarth officiated at the services. Mrs. Geraldine John was organist.

Thomsen died Saturday evening in a motorcycle accident north of Olin.

He was born February 15, 1959 at Monticello, the son of Arnold and Wilma Marjorie Stowers Thomsen.

He moved to Oxford Junction when he was 2 years old and graduated from the Oxford Junction High School in 1977. He was employed by Amoco Fertilizer at Olin.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Oxford Junction Jaycees.

Survivors are his mother of Oxford Junction; four brothers, Arnold, Martin and Jon of Oxford Junction and Lloyd of Brewton, AL; four sisters Mrs. Arnella Bennen, Elgin, IL; Mrs. Richard (Alesa) Caste of Great Lakes, IL; Mrs. Magdalene Achenbach, Oxford Junction and Monica Thomsen, Cedar Rapids; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Mary Stowers of Oxford Junction, one niece and three nephews.

Preceding him in death were his father, two sisters, one brother, maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother and grandfather.

Pallbearers were Jeffery Brinkman, Jeffery Carstensen, Rick Clapp, Terry Wink, Vernon Vacek and Henry Meyer.
