MONTICELLO--Rev. Sterling J. Baldwin, 53, pastor of St. Luke's Methodist church, since 1955, died late Tuesday, April 4, following a heart attack.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, at 2 p.m., at St. Luke's Methodist church. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

He was born Aug. 11, 1907, at Osage. He attended schools there and was graduated from Upper Iowa university in 1929. He graduated from Drew Theological seminary, Madison, N.J., in 1933, and served pastorates at Janesville, Rudd, West Union and Sanborn.

He was a member of the Masonic lodge and a past grand chaplain of the lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; two sons, Lt. Edwin, San Antonio; Lynn H., Shenandoah; two daughters, Mrs. Duane Hirsch, Marion; and Mrs. Elvin Kingery, Nashville, Tenn.
