OLIN--Mrs. Ida Belle Mershon, 83, Olin, died Saturday, March 18, at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 21, at 2 p.m., at the Campbell Funeral home, Olin. Rev. Lloyd Dutro, pastor of the Olin E.U.B. church, was in charge of the services. Interment was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers included Carl Feddersen, Gilbert Jones, Gerald Lyon, Robert Sharon, Hans Rohwedder and Bliss Switzer.

She was born Sept. 8, 1877, daughter of Delmar and Martha Biggert Murfield, Shelby county. She came to Jones county with her parents while a young girl and with the exception of 10 years spent in Cedar Rapids had lived in Olin most of the time.

Dec. 21, 1895, she was married to Jesse Tilden Mershon at Olin. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of American lodge.

Survivors include three sons, Cecil Mershon, Cedar Rapids; Delmar Mershon, Oxford Junction; Jesse Mershon, Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Gilbert Murfield, Aurora, South Dakota; Jim Murfield, Onawa; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Lillian; her husband, Oct. 26, 1960; one sister and five brothers.
