WYOMING--Mrs. Jennie Hutton died Friday, March 24, at her home in Wyoming.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, March 27, at the Wallace Funeral home in Wyoming. Rev. Wayne Norris was clergyman. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Pallbearers were Edwin Brunscheen, William Walters, Marvin Hunwardsen, Adolph Stampe, Martin Botkin and Howard Jamison.

Jennie B. Paul, elder daughter of William C. and Mary McBurney Paul, was born Sept. 12, 1872, in the Paul farm midway between Onslow and Wyoming.

She grew up in Wyoming township and attended the Valley school and the Wyoming high school. She became an apprentice milliner in Wyoming in the building now occupied by her son's office.

In 1896 she was married to William E. Smith, Wellsville, Ohio, and went back, as a bride to that part of Ohio from which her father's family had come. To this union one son was born. Smith family came back to Onslow to live in 1915 and there Mr. Smith died, a victim of the 1918 flue epidemic.

In 1928, Mrs. Smith was married to Samuel G. Hutton and in 1948 they moved to Wyoming. They were able to celebrate their Silver wedding anniversary just prior to Mr. Hutton's death in 1953.

Mrs. Hutton was a life long member of the Presbyterian church, first belonging to the Onslow church, where her parents had been charter members. She transferred her membership to the Wyoming church after Mrs. Hutton's death.

She was a founder of the Altruian club at Onslow, also a member of the Presbyterian Industrial society, Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Wyoming Progressive club.

Surviving are her son, Dr. C. R. Smith, Wyoming; a sister, Miss Vera Paul, Ruston, La.; two grandson, Captain Paul Smith, Andrews Airforce base, Washington, D.C. and Phillip Smith, Iowa State university, Ames; and three great-grandchildren.
