Mary Alice Feehan, daughter of John Hayes Feehan and Julia B. Feehan, was born at Onslow, Jones County, Iowa, December 19, 1859, and departed this life on February 17, 1940, at the home of a niece, Mrs. Irene Abbey Wells, of Arcadia, California.

One of seven children, Miss Feehan grew to womanhood in the county of her birth, where she spent her entire life, with the exception of occasional visits to California and Oregon. Following the profession of nursing, she was widely known and beloved by all who came to know her. It was on July 14th, 1889 she with her sister Margaret joined the Methodist Church of Anamosa, where she maintained her life long membership. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Ladies' Aid, and with that group added to the enrichment of many lives.

Miss Feehan was preceded in death by her father in March, 1899; and her mother in March, 1918. Three sisters also preceded her in death, Estelle, Lizzie, and Margaret, as well as one brother, Charles.

She leaves to mourn her passing, one sister, Mrs. Florence Rhinehart of Anamosa, and one brother, R. W. Feehan, of Lakeside, Oregon; two nieces, Mrs. Irene Abbey Wells of Arcadia, Calif., and Muriel Feehan Harding of Los Angeles, Calif., besides a multitude of friends and neighbors.
