February 29, 1940 - The Anamosa Eureka

Wilhelmine Ebert, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Ebert, was born on Feb. 2, 1858, at Pommeran, Germany, and at the age of 14, she was confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran faith.

Attaining legal age, Miss Ebert united in marriage to Charles Krueger. To this union three children were born, Otto, Ida and William.

In the year 1885, they came to the United States. The first seven years in the U.S. were spent in Wisconsin. Thereafter, they moved to Jones county and spent the remainder of their days. Two of the children, Otto and Ida preceded them in death. Mr. Krueger passed away 15 years ago.

The remaining years, Mrs. Krueger spent with her granddaughter, Mrs. Melvin Starry, who faithfully cared for her until her end. On Sunday morning, Feb. 18, at 10:45 a.m., she quietly passed away, having attained the age of 82 years and 16 days.

She leaves to mourn: a son, William, the granddaughter, Mrs. Melvin Starry and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the Stuart Funeral Home at 1:45 o'clock and at 2 o'clock in St. John's Lutheran church. Rev. H. F. Hein officiated. Miss Leona Zimmerman and Mrs. Leonard Hartwig sang. The body was interred in the Olin cemetery.
