ONSLOW--Mrs. James Bickford, 78, Onslow, died Tuesday Feb. 7, at her home following a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 9 at 1 p.m., at the Wallace Funeral home, Wyoming. Rev. F. E. Somerville officiated. Interment was in the Clay cemetery, Onslow.

Pallbearers were Kenneth Leggett, George Wessels, Waldo Shellenberger, Harold Jordan, Al Euchs and Donald Leinen.

Junior Hicks was soloist and was accompanied by Mrs. Lola Wantz, organist.

She was born Maggie McCarty, Sept. 22, 1882, daughter of Sarah and Thomas McCarty, near Canton. Sept. 4, 1902, she was married to James Bickford. Five children were born to this union.

Survivors include her husband; her children, Carrell, Dillon and Mrs. Freda Welch, all of Onslow; Neoma Nabb, Maquoketa, and Matthew, Stanwood.

Other survivors include two brothers, Joe McCarty and Pat McCarty, Monmouth; one sister, Anna Dornden, Long Beach, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
