Anamosa, Ia., Feb. 4--Mr. George Bedell, Sr., died Monday, after a short illness. He contracted a severe cold the last of the week which developed into pneumonia. Mr. Bedell was born in New York state, and lived there until after his marriage. He has been a resident of Anamosa for many years, and was for a long time station agent at the C. & N.W. depot. Of late years failing health and advancing age have debarred him from the more active duties of life, for he was past the four-score mark. Mr. Bedell was a pleasant, kindly man, well liked and respected. He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Louis Osborne, and one son, George Jr. His oldest son, R. J., died some years ago.
