WYOMING--Justus Bahnsen, 73, Maquoketa, former Wyoming resident, died Sunday, Nov. 13 at the Jackson County hospital, Maquoketa, where he had been a patient for the last five months.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m., at the Carson Funeral home, Maquoketa. Rev. Harold Kumph officiated at the service. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Pallbearers included Wayne Bahnsen, Pete Bahnsen, Eugene Bahnsen, Lafayette Bahnsen, Richard Bahnsen and Raymond Benning.

Junior Hicks was soloist and was accompanied by Mrs. Lola Wantz, organist.

Justus Bahnsen was born Oct. 20, 1887, in Wyoming, the son of John and Christina Schmaldfelt Bahnsen. He was married in 1910 to Mayme Sacora in Jones county. For the last several years he has made his home with his daughter in Maquoketa.

Surviving are two daughters, Carmin, Mrs. Vern Westphal, Maquoketa; and Ruth, Mrs. John Rohwedder, Davenport; four brothers, Alfred, Monmouth, Elmer, Sol, and J. T., all of Wyoming.

Other survivors are three sisters, Molinda, Mrs. Adolph Benning, Wyoming; Mrs. Matie Martens and Mrs. Josephine Myers, both of Westside; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife and two brothers.
