Funeral services were held for Charles M. Buresh, 47, of Oxford Junction on Friday, October 20 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. R. J. Sigwarth officiated. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery where military graveside services were conducted by the American Legion, Wapsi Post. The Rosary was said Thursday evening at Hayden's Funeral Home.

Mr. Buresh died Tuesday, October 17 at Mercy Hospital, Davenport.

He was born near Oxford Junction on February 26, 1931, the son of Joseph and Frances Vacek Buresh. He attended Oxford Junction school and graduated from high school while serving in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War.

On August 7, 1954, he married Phyllis Briggs of Burns, OR. The couple lived in Oregon for four years and have farmed north of Oxford Junction for 20 years.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and American Legion, Wapsie Post No. 473 of Oxford Junction.

In addition to his wife, survivors are his mother, Mrs. Frances Buresh of Oxford Junction; four sons, Philip of the U.S. Navy; Mitchel, Matthew and Jonathan, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Kim (Janna) Muhl of Oskaloosa and Alicia at home; one granddaughter and two brothers, Robert and Joseph, both of Oxford Junction.

Preceding him in death was his father.

Pallbearers were Robert Buresh, Joseph Buresh, Philip Buresh, Michael Buresh, Matthew Buresh, Jonathan Buresh and Kim Muhl.
