Funeral services were held on Oct. 21 for Fern Scripture, 62, who passed away Thursday, Oct. 19, at John McDonald Hospital in Monticello.

Rev. Loren Simpson officiated at the 11 a.m. services at Wyoming United Methodist Church. Burial was in the South Mineral Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Richard Pace, Royal Snyder, Dean Frankfourt, S. L. Schoenthaler, Stuart Ireland and Merle Aldrich.

Scripture was born Jan. 17, 1916 in Wyoming, the daughter of Rex and Kittie Heasty. She attended Wyoming High School and worked at McNeilley's Seed Corn in Center Junction for several years.

On Oct. 12, 1938, she married Harold Scripture at Dubuque. The couple lived in the Onslow and Wyoming area.

She was also a member of the Wyoming United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Harold; her mother, Mrs. Kittie Felker, Monticello; one son, Dave Walshire, Anamosa; three sisters, Mildred Dusanek, Wyoming; Ruth Carroll, Cedar Rapids, and Helen Felker, Denver, CO; one brother, John Heasty, Lompac, CA; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by her father.
