Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 19, for Mrs. Gaylen Klawonn, 30, of Rock Island, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Oxford Junction.

Klawonn was the former Connie Pegorick of Oxford Junction.

Rev, Kenneth Hamann officiated at the services. Mrs. Richard Woelfle was organist and vocalists were Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen and Mrs. Otto Koranda. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction.

Pallbearers were Brian Groth, Gary Willimack, Dale Willimack, Randy Pegorick, Roger Pegorick and Brad Willey.

Klawonn was killed last Saturday evening in Rock Island County. A car struck a group of people standing by a hayrack. Two others were also killed.

She was born May 21, 1948, at Anamosa, the daughter of Harry and Leola Groth Pegorick of Oxford Junction.

On Oct. 20, 1973, she married Gaylen Klawonn of Rock Island. She worked as assistant office manager for Gordon-Dawson Pontiac-Cadillac, Davenport. She was also a member of the Sitzmacher Ski Club.

In addition to her husband, survivors include: a daughter, Kelly Jo, at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pegorick, Oxford Junction; two sisters, Sharon Urmy and Rosemary Knepper, both of Davenport; paternal grandfather, Fred Pegorick, Oxford Junction; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Groth, Olin; and one niece, Molly Ann Urmy, Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother.
