20 October 1960 - The Anamosa Eureka

CENTRAL CITY--Albert M. Moyer, rural Central City, died Sunday, Oct. 16, following a heart attack, at his farm home near Viola.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m., at the Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa. Burial was in Forest cemetery. Rev. Charles Willming officiated at the service.

Pallbearers included Elbert White, Robert Holub, John Ricklefs, Gene Anderson, Harold Secrist, James Whitmore.

He was born Feb. 20, 1908, son of John A. Moyer and Ora Gage Moyer, Jones county. He was married to Grace Parks, Anamosa, on Aug. 26, 1929, at Cedar Rapids.

He had lived his married life on a farm, and at the time of his death lived on a farm near Viola. Beside farming he recently was employed by Linn County Roads.

Survivors include his wife, Grace; two sons, James Moyer, rural Central City, and Donald Moyer, Central City; three daughters, Mrs. June Morrow, Mount Vernon; Dorothy Moyer, at home; and May Moyer, Cedar Rapids.

Other survivors include his father, John Moyer, Mount Vernon; four sisters, Mrs. Etta Potter, Anamosa; Mrs. Bessie Covington, Monticello; Mrs. Mildred Eden, Fairfax; and Mrs. Pearl Dort, Moline, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1947.
