LANGWORTHY--John B. Reuter, Langworthy, died Friday, Oct. 14, at John McDonald hospital, Monticello, following a heart attack suffered on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 17, at St. John Lutheran church, Monticello, at 2 p.m. Rev. William Reddel officiated at the service. Burial was in St. John cemetery, Monticello.

Pallbearers included Merle Dirks, John Heiken, Robert Reuter, James Zimmerman, Richard Andreesen and Marvin Zimmerman.

He was born March 30, 1881, son of Benhard and Cesine Reuter, Jever, Germany. He was married to Sophia Oetken Monek, Monticello, on Jan. 15, 1902, at the home of her parents. He was engaged in farming until 1945. Six children were born to this union.

Survivors include two sons, Carl Reuter, Center Junction; Elwill Reuter, rural Monticello; three daughters, Edna, Mrs. John Stahlberg, jr; Elsie, Mrs. Carl Zimmerman; and Esther, Mrs. Clarence Willms, all of Monticello.

Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Marie Prull, Langworthy; and Mrs. Theresa Aden, Wilhelmshaven, Germany; two brothers, Menno Reuter, Wilhelmshaven, Germany, and Martin Reuter, Hannover, Germany; 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William, September 1949; two sisters and three brothers.
