Funeral services for Herman F. Bennen, 66, were held Oct. 11 at 11 a.m. at Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming, with Pastor James Mattson officiating.

Bennen passed away Sunday, Oct. 8 at Iowa City.

Burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery, with military services by Timber City Post No. 75 of Maquoketa.

Pallbearers were Bruce Conwell, Billy Koranda, Rick Koranda, Greg Curtin, Greg Glenn and Tim Glenn.

Bennen was born Nov. 22, 1911, at Scotch Grove, the son of Emma Kuetsen and John Bennen. He attended Wyoming schools and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

In 1946, he married Lucy Clark. They had three children.

Bennen had retired from Clinton Engineering in Maquoketa.

Survivors include his wife Lucy; a daughter, Bessie Woodford, Mesa, AZ; one son, Herman, Wyoming; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Helen Petersen, Hale, and Lorrena Lovell, Clarence.
