Gladys Snyder, 75, passed away June 22 at the Anamosa Community Hospital.

Services were held at 11 a.m. at Hayden's Funeral Home June 24 with Rev. Brown Garlock officiating. Burial was at the South Mineral Cemetery, Onslow.

Pallbearers were Kevin Somerville, Keith Somerville, Jerry Holtz, Darrell Oppedal, Doug Oppedal and Al Albers.

Born in Jones County December 21, 1902, she was the daughter of Marshall and Rachel Waggy Huffman.

She graduated from Monmouth High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College for two years. Mrs. Snyder later taught at Monmouth Public School.

She married Phil Snyder, who died a few years later.

Mrs. Snyder lived in the rural Monmouth area for many years before moving to Wyoming. In 1972 she moved to Anamosa and lived with a niece, Mrs. Ronald Holtz, until 1975, when she moved to the Anamosa Care Center.

Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Lula Huffman, Anamosa and Mrs. Fred (Alta) Broadie of Ruthven; also, five nieces and one nephew.
