Faithe A. Macomber, 82, died at Mt. Vernon on Wednesday, April 26. Memorial services were held Saturday, April 29, at 2 p.m., at the Olin United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ralph Grote officiating. Burial was in the Olin cemetery.

Pallbearers included William Reese, Joe Levsen, Verle Harvey, Melvin Ramsey, Clyde Taylor and Elmer Petersen.

She was born at Fairbank, Iowa, on August 6, 1895, the daughter of James and Mary Middleton Kidder. She graduated from the Olin Consolidated School and Cornell College and on August 14, 1918 she married Guy Macomber at Deming, New Mexico.

Mrs. Macomber taught school at Adel, Maquoketa and Olin high schools before beginning to work in the drug store at Olin which the couple owned. After the death of her husband in 1945, she continued to operate the business until 1972. She continued to live in Olin after her retirement.

She was a member of the Olin United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women, a charter member of the Olin American Legion Auxiliary, and past president of the Olin Senior Citizens.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Margaret) Wendt, Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Fred (Virginia) Petersen, Wyoming; one son, David, Davenport; one brother, Paul Kidder, of St. Petersburg, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hoye, Esterville, and Joyce Kidder, Mt. Vernon; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, one infant brother, and two sisters.
