OXFORD JUNCTION - Thomas Benischek, 65, Oxford Junction, died early Sunday morning June ? of a coronary condition, at his home five miles north east of Oxford Junction.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 7, at 1:30 p.m., at the Hayden Funeral home. Rev. John Schlosser, of the Methodist church, Olin, officiated. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery. Graveside services were held by members of the American Legion.

Pallbearers were Charles Sheldon, Glenn Pence, Jens Latare, Edward Knake, John Pashek and August Petersen.

Hymns were sung by Mrs. Otto Koranda and Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen with Mrs. Hayden at the organ.

He was born Sept. 6, 1894, son of Nickolas and Mary Benischek, Jones county. He had always lived in the Oxford Junction area, where he farmed with his brothers, Henry and John, now deceased. He never married.

Survivors include two brothers, Henry Benischek, Oxford Junction, and Marten Benischek, Aspenwall; three sisters, Mrs. John Marten, Anamosa; Mrs. Dora Groth and Mrs. Charles Groth, Olin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
