Emma Kostal, 83, passed away Monday, February 27, at the Anamosa Care Center.

She was born on October 7, 1894 at Oxford Junction; the daughter of Joseph and Eliza Powleska Kalouse. She attended rural school near Wyoming and married Royal Snyder in 1922 at Monticello, where they lived until her husband was killed in 1926.

In 1930, she married Jerry Kostal. They lived in Wyoming most of their married lives. He died in 1947. She has been a resident of the Anamosa Care Center the last four years.

She was a member of the Wyoming Methodist Church.

Mrs. Kostal is survived by a son, Royal of Wyoming; a brother, Edward Kalouse of Wheatland; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and one sister.

Services were held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wyoming Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Wyoming Cemetery.

Pallbearers were William Walters, John Eichhorn, Merle Aldrich, Clifford Dirks, Harlan Jacobson and Kenneth Brunscheen.
