Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 31 for Amelia "Millie" Strong, 93, a former Wyoming resident. Rev. Loren Simpson conducted the 1:30 p.m. services at Hayden Funeral Home, Wyoming. Burial was in Wyoming Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Harold Scripture, Raymond Huggans, William J. Thompson, Elmer Nissen, John Nissen, and Richard Brownell.

Mrs. Strong died Saturday at Good Neighbor Home in Manchester, where she had resided for the past several years. She was born in Wyoming September 25, 1884, the daughter of David and Mary Louise Fairchild Phelps. She attended school at Wyoming and married John Strong July 5, 1904 at Wyoming.

The couple farmed in Jones County before retiring to Wyoming in 1955. Her husband died in 1962.

Survivors include two sons, Lyle of Manchester, and David of Deming, New Mexico; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Thomsen of Wyoming; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and five sisters.
