OXFORD JUNCTION -- Mrs. George Wlach, 73, Oxford Junction, died Sunday morning, Jan. 17, at 6:20 a.m., at the Jackson County hospital, Maquoketa, following a lingering illness, nine weeks of which she spent in the hospital. Body was brought to the Hayden Funeral home, Oxford Junction.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 26, at 1:30 p.m., at the Methodist church. Rev. Dan Benedict, Monmouth, officiated. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Otto Koranda and Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen with Mrs. Louis Vacek, organist.

Those serving as pallbearers were Allen Hronik, Delbert Hodgden, Leo Bopp, Floyd Hodgden, Norman Schutt and Quentin Hoyer. Burial was in the Mayflower cemetery.

Mrs. Wlach was born Mary Henek, Dec. 20, 1886, at Oxford Junction, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Henek. She had lived her entire life in Oxford Junction. She was united in marriage to George Wlach Jan. 17, 1913. They had farmed two miles south of Oxford Junction.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Margaret; a sister, Mrs. Anna Van Sickle, Oxford Junction; two brothers, Charles Henek, living in Ohio and Frank Henek, Oxford Junction.
