Services were held Monday, December 5, at Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming for Allen R. Hoffman, 45, of Center Junction. Hoffman was found at his home near Center Junction Friday, December 2, the victim of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Rev. John Osborn officiated the 1:30 p.m. services. Burial was in Wyoming Cemetery. Pallbearers were James Achenbach, Robert Buol, Edward Hoyer, Robert Husman, and Raymond Batchelder.

Hoffman was born June 21, 1932 at Hale, the son of George and Etta McGuire Hoffman. He attended country school near Hale and married Reva Taylor June 23, 1951 at Anamosa. He served in the Army in Korea, and lived and worked in the Center Junction area all of his life.

Survivors are his wife; his mother, Etta Hoffman, Lisbon; two sons, Richard, Oxford Junction; and David, at home and two daughters, Sandra, Morley; and Susan, at home. Other survivors are a brother, Byron, Pearston, Indiana; four sisters, Mrs. Charles (Twila) Vacek, Stanwood; Mrs. Kenneth (Katherine) Sweet, Olin; Velva Zirkelbach, Lisbon; and Mrs. Donald (Belle) Woods, Stanwood; and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his father.
