Funeral services were held for George E. Slouha, 68, of Oxford Junction on Monday, November 28 at the Hayden Funeral Home. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery.

Officiating at the services was the Rev. Ramon Booth of Cedar Rapids. Organist was Mrs. Lewis Hayden and vocalists were Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen and Mrs. Otto Koranda.

Mr. Slouha died early Friday morning at the Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.

He was born April 8, 1909 at rural Oxford Junction, the son of Charles and Anna Burda Slouha. He married Hilda Petersen on August 23, 1933 at Cedar Rapids. They farmed his home farm north of Oxford Junction, until moving to Oxford Junction in 1958. He was then owner of the Slouha Seed Store, until retiring seven years ago.

He was a member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge.

Survivors are his wife; four sons, Donald of Oxford Junction, Dennis of Alameda, California, Lloyd of Milan, Illinois and Rodney of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Mrs. Georgetta Wilslef of Wyoming and Mrs. Dean (Wendy) Horner of Oxford Junction; fourteen grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Emile (Grace) Burian of Oxford Junction.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one grandchild.

Pallbearers were Leonard Benischek, Vince Lasack, Robert Buresh, Robert Eads, James Benhart and Otto Koranda.
