Funeral services were held for Keith Conner, 78, of Oxford Junction on Friday, August 12 at Hayden's Funeral Home. Officiating clergyman was the Rev. Ramon Booth of Cedar Rapids. Organist was Mrs. Lewis Hayden and vocalists were Mrs. Otto Koranda and Mrs. Hans Ahrendsen. Burial was at Mayflower Cemetery, with military graveside services conducted by the American Legion, Wapsie Post No. 473.

Mr. Conner died Wednesday morning at the Anamosa Community Hospital.

He was born July 19, 1899 in Traer, the son of Dan and Belle Parsons Conner and he attended school in Traer. He served in France after enlisting in the U.S. Army at the age of 17.

On September 14, 1920 he was married to Laura Evans at Algona.

He attended a Cedar Rapids barber school and was engaged in that profession for more than 50 years. He had a barber shop in Oxford Junction for 35 years, retiring six years ago.

He was a member of the American Legion, Wapsie Post, No. 473.

Survivors are his widow of Oxford Junction; two daughters, Mrs. Gail (Meriwyn) Briggs of Denver, Colorado and Mrs. Merlin (Carolyn) Moore of Anamosa; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Carmi Conner of Traer and one sister, Mrs. Marjorie O'Malley of Mechanicsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

Pallbearers were Otto Koranda, Emile Koranda, Fred Benhart, Delmar Culver, Robert Fowler and Ray Sobotka.
