Mabel Coon, 87, died July 20 at the Anamosa Care Center. Services were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Hayden Funeral Home, Wyoming, with burial in the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction. Rev. Maurice Gamble, Onslow, officiated. Pallbearers were Glenn Tubbs, Dale Tubbs, Richard Tubbs, Robert Graves and Harold Graves.

Mrs. Coon was born in Pennsylvania, April 3, 1890, the daughter of Harry and Alice LeGarde Lloyd. She married Fred Coon at Anamosa March 8, 1926. The couple lived their entire lives in the Hale and Oxford Junction areas.

She is survived by two sisters, Nettie Rowell, Maquoketa, and Emmaline Braun, Hale; one brother, Merle Lloyd, Independence; and a daughter-in-law Darlene Coon, Maquoketa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Charles, one sister, four brothers, and a grandson.
