Funeral services were held for Mannuel Streasslin, 80, of the Armstrong Custodial Home in Delmar, Wednesday, September 1st at 10:30 a.m. at the Hayden Funeral Home. The Rev. James Mattson officiated. Burial was in the Wyoming Cemetery.

Mr. Streasslin died August 30th at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa.

He was born at Dennison, Iowa on June 10, 1896. He was the son of Mannuel and Amanda Lingle Streasslin.

When he was 7 years old, he moved to the Lost Nation - Oxford Junction area. Here he worked around Oxford Junction on farms. On March 28, 1921, he married Nellie Story. They farmed west of Wyoming and he also worked at the Iowa State Reformatory. Two nephews, Ralph Eggert of Wyoming and Charles Eggert of Lost Nation made their home with Mr. Streasslin until Mrs. Streasslin died in the early 1940's. In 1950 he moved to Wyoming and continued to work at the reformatory. He spent his last three years at the Armstrong Custodial Home in Delmar.

Survivors include 3 sisters, Mrs. Fred (Lillian) Bock of Storm Lake, Iowa, Mrs. Emma Werling, Tipton, Mrs. Grace Weiler, Dubuque; 2 brothers, Noah of Knoxville, Iowa and Albert of Los Angeles, California; many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

The pallbearers were Clair Bramer, Raymond Huggans, Dr. A. G. Rexstad, Melvin Petersen, James Curtin and Louie Dusanek.
