Ernest Lee Anderson, 87, died at his home on July 13, 1976. He was born in Madison Township, Jones County, Iowa on August 20, 1888. He was the son of Christian and Minnie Dean Anderson.

He attended rural schools and on June 28, 1911 he married Amy Streeper at Onslow. The couple farmed their entire lives in Jones County.

Surviving him are his wife Amy, 5 sons: Harold and Herbert of Martelle, Harley and Duane of Center Junction and Donald of Anamosa; 2 daughters: Doris Anderson of Martelle, and Donna (Mrs. Wayne Wacker) of Cedar Rapids; 6 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and 2 sisters: Mrs. Clara Hamilton of Anamosa and Mrs. Edna Russ of Rock Island, Ill.

Preceding him in death were his parents, 4 brothers, 2 sisters and 4 granddaughters.

Services were held Friday July 16th, at Linn Grove Presbyterian Church near Martelle with burial in Wyoming Cemetery. Rev. Rubin Tjaden officiating. Pallbearers were LaVern Jamison, Lowell Anderson, Wayne Anderson, Randy Anderson, Dennis Wacker and Merlyn Behnke.
