Eva Irene DeVore, 75, died Friday July 9, 1976 at the Maquoketa Care Center.

Services were held Monday, July 12th, at 10:30 a.m. in the Hayden Funeral Home. Burial was in the S. Mineral Cemetery at Onslow.

She was born Aug. 30, 1900 in Jones Co., Iowa to Otis and Candace Felker Scripture. She married John DeVore on June 20, 1937 at Maquoketa. The couple farmed in the Monmouth-Wyoming area. Mrs. DeVore was a member of the Monmouth Baptist Church.

She is survived by 2 sons, James and John of Lost Nation; 2 brothers, Harold Scripture of Wyoming and Stanley Scripture of Maquoketa; and 5 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 1 sister.

Pallbearers were David Walshire, Richard Ward, William Short, Albert Storm, Larry Hamilton and Max Parmer.
