Leah Elizabeth Davis, 61, passed away at Jackson County Hospital, Maquoketa, June 14, 1974. The daughter of Austin and Emma Hershberger Allen, she was born April 15, 1913 near Wyoming. She graduated from Monmouth High School and attended college at Cedar Falls. She taught in rural schools around Center Junction. On February 25, 1940 she married Ronald Davis. Mrs. Davis lived her married life in Jones County. After raising her family, she worked ten years at Wyoming school as a cook.

She is survived by her husband; one son, Robert, Olin; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Kathleen) Gruber, Farragut; Mrs. Terry (Margaret) Baumann, East Moline, Ill.; her father, Austin T. Allen, Wyoming; five brothers, John and Robert, Wyoming; Theodore Allen, DeWitt; A. Stanley Allen, Olin; Jacob Allen, Sheffield; one sister, Mrs. Rowland (Verna) Mais, Wyoming; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother.

Services were Monday, June 17 at Wyoming Methodist Church. Burial was in North Madison Pioneer Cemetery. The Rev. Phillip Durkee officiated. Pallbearers were James Allen, Thomas Allen, William Allen, Russell Allen, Rowland Mais III, and Duane Mallicoat.
