Francis G. Orr, 82, of Onslow passed away April 5 at the Monticello Senior Home. He was born near Onslow on August 26, 1891, the son of John and Elizabeth Tippett Orr. He attended the rural school at Frozen Hill. As a young man, he started farming north of Onslow with his father. On Nov. 23, 1915, he married Jennie Streeper at Onslow. They farmed north of Onslow until retiring. For the last five years, Francis had resided at the Monticello Senior Home.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, one daughter, and one sister.

Survivors include one son, Lester of Onslow, five grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Al (Edna) Hamilton of Maquoketa.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 8, at 1:30 p.m. in the Onslow Presbyterian Church. Rev. Paul Rucker officiated. Interment was in the Wyoming Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Russell Chaplin, Wilfred Wherry, James Moran, John Heeren, Calvin Reiss, and Ray Heideman.
