George Byrl Snyder, age 80, passed away Thursday, April 18th, at the Monticello Senior Home. He was born July 9, 1893 near Monmouth, Ia., eldest son of Phillip Snyder and Lizzie Eye. He was educated in rural Jones Co. Schools. Mr. Snyder married Edna Pearl McMullen, Jan. 7, 1919 at Rock Island, Ill. She died in 1949. They farmed in the Monmouth and Onslow areas, moving to Onslow in 1933 when he entered into the trucking business for several years. He worked as a carpenter before establishing a plumbing and heating business in Onslow until 1953 when he sold it to his son. He continued working with his son and also did carpentry work until ill health forced him to retire about 10 yrs. ago.

He is survived by three sons, Raymond, Canton, Mo.; Clayton, Wyoming; and John, Wyoming. Twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and one grandson.

Memorial services for Mr. Snyder were held on Sunday, April 21st at Hayden's Funeral Home in Wyoming at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Charles Preston conducting the service.

Interment was at the South Mineral Cemetery, Onslow.

Pallbearers were: Keith Zaloznik, Kent Zaloznik, Kevin Zaloznik, Dennis Snyder, Ronald Snyder and Thomas Snyder.
