The funeral service for Wolber A. Paulsen, 73, was held on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 1:30 p.m. in the Wyoming Methodist Church. He passed away on Feb. 11.
Mr. Paulsen was born Nov. 29, 1900 at Hattstedt, Germany to Gens and Amelia Catlesen Paulsen. He came to the U.S. in 1923 and settled in Jones County. For several years he worked in Jones and Clinton counties. Mr. Paulsen married Emma Carstensen at Rock Island on March 1, 1932. They farmed near Wyoming until retiring in Wyoming in 1968. Mr. Paulsen was a member of the Wyoming Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Anna, two sons, August of Cedar Rapids, Tomas of Wyoming, four grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Louise Seibken and Mrs. Sophia Ingwersen, both of Germany, and one brother, Pete, of Davenport. He was preceded in death by his parents and seven sisters.
The services were officiated by Rev. Evelyn Durkee. Donald Carstensen, Dennis Carstensen, Daryl Carstensen, Richard Bahnsen, Gorden Thomsen, and Gerry Thomsen were pallbearers. Interment was at the Wyoming Cemetery.
