Services for Hertha M Bahnsen, 93, were held Thursday, April 30, 1998 at the Hayden Funeral Home in Wyoming, Iowa. Burial was held in the Wyoming Cemetery, Wyoming.

Hertha M. Bahnsen of Wyoming died on Sunday, April 26, 1998 at the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa, following a short illness. She was born on Aug 11, 1904 in Wyoming, the daughter of August and Catherine Petersen Carstensen. She received her education in the Wyoming Schools, and helped her parents on the family farm.

On Feb 27, 1932, she married Elmer D Bahnsen at Rock Island, Ill. After their marriage, the couple made their home on a farm near Wyoming, where he began farming and she was a homemaker. In 1938, they purchased a farm est of Wyoming, where they continued farming for the next 52 years. Her husband died in March of 1990 and she continued living on the farm.

Survivors include a son, Richard of Wyoming; two sisters, Dora Dusanek of Wyoming and Minna Thomsen of Anamosa, and several neces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a son, four brothers and a sister.

Hertha Bahnsen was a member of the Midland Homemaker's Club of Wyoming, Iowa.
