Funeral services for Elva Calkins Briggs, who died Saturday, June 28, at her home in Minneapolis, were held from Calkins Square, July 1at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Wyoming cemetery.

Mrs. Briggs, the elder daughter of the late Dr. M.H. Calkins and Lucinda Louden Calkins, was born Nov. 15, 1861 at Wyoming.

She was married to William E. Briggs of Wyoming, a son of the late Moore Briggs and Huldah Oviatt Briggs of Wyoming. Mr. Briggs engaged in the banking business over 50 years. He died in 1943.

The last of the Calkins family, she was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Mary Calkins Chassell. She is survived by three children, Martin C. Briggs, Walter C. Briggs and Mary C. Briggs all of Minneapolis and one granddaughter, Katherine M. Briggs of Washington, D.C.
